Curly Hair

Curly hair is prone to dryness, brittleness and frizzing and consequently is fragile and requires much care to enhance its condition. To minimise breakage try letting your hair dry naturally as much as possible, styling with suitable products when completely dry or very slightly damp.

Try to avoid brushing your curls as this creates friction in the hair and will cause your hair to frizz. Instead use your fingers and a de-tangling therapy to tease out your curls, finishing with a wide-toothed comb.

Try to limit shampooing to two or three times per week as each shampoo application strips your hair of its natural oils leading to dryness. Ensure you use a shampoo and conditioner is specifically for curly hair as this will boost moisture levels.

Use a deep conditioning treatment at least once a month to re-moisturise your scalp and hair.
